If you care for a good view and some romantic atmosphere? Then you should seriously consider staying at Uto Kulm.

Unique Qualities: Located on top of Uetliberg, this 4 star hotel is overlooking Zurich and offers breathtaking view at day and even more at night. You are about 400 meters above the city.

We had a nice room in the second building, with view over the city. Great stay!

Directions: Take S10 from Zurich Mainstation to Final Destination Uetliberg. From there it's about a 10 minutes walk or you can ask to hotel to pick you up.

Hotel Schweizerhof Zurich: Hotel Schweizerhof Hotel Schweizerhof Zurich Review

I spent a week at Hotel Schweizerhof during a Businesstrip. I assume that we got the smallest rooms in the whole hotel, because of our corporate rates. The room and the bed were very small.

Unique Qualities: I love the breakfast buffet especially because of their cold cut, bread and cheese selection. The service was also great. My favorite is the butler who drops by every night with his trolley. He offers a wide selection of chocolate, adapters, magazines, etc. - free of charge!

And of course, you can't beat the location. But this is why the hotel is quite expensive.

Central Plaza Hotel: Small rooms.... Central Plaza Hotel Review

My friends stayed there during a business trip.
The rooms were very small and only good for a night or two. Since then they made a huge renovation. I don't know, how the room look like now. I guess they must be bigger then prices are a whopping 300 to 500 Francs a night!

Unique Qualities: The location can't be beaten! Right at Central, just 5 minutes from the Main Station, entry point to the Old Town, huge Tram Stop right in front of the hotel. GREAT!

Alden / Hotel Splügenschloss: Sweeeet Alden Hotel Splugenschloss Zurich Review

The Family of my japanese friend stayed once there before the renovation. The rooms looked very nice, the price was reasonable back then.

But now the only have suites. And they are very, very expensive. Junior Suites cost between 700 and 1'100 francs, the real suites from 900 up to 1500 a night!

O.k,., you get something for the money:
WLAN Hotspot or Highspeed Access, LCD Flat Screen, TV, Video, 60 to 100m2 space, ...

Unique Qualities: Want to stay luxary close to the lake? Then this is your hotel!

City Backpacker / Hotel Biber: Awesome location! City Backpacker Hotel Biber Review

Well, I'm living so close to Zurich, that I never had to stay in a hostel or hotel in Zurich. But if I were a tourst, I'd stay here.

Unique Qualities: The location is excellent. Right in the heart of the Old Town, about 10 minutes walk from the Main Station, 2 minutes to the next Tram Stop and just about 10 minutes walk to the lake. GREAT!

Comparison: less expensive than average

Directions: The Niederdorfstrasse is the main walking street in the Old Town. The hotel is about 5 min. walk from Central. Check out the map. The entrance is in a smaller sidealley. You have to turn to the right at the nice Kebap Stand on the left.
