"Switzerland is just too small for my mind...." Carino's Profile

Not counting the "boarder-hopping" to France, Austria, Italy and Germany, it took myself 11 years until I set my foot outside of my beautiful country Switzerland for the very first time. My family finally spend money on a trip to the beach. Playa d'Aro was therefore my first real Travel Experience and my first flight ever.

And allready then I didn't care for just lying on the beach. I rather walked around the towns and the hills at the Costa Brava.

I got infected by the Travel-Virus for the first time....

I have to thank my dad for his great idea! He decided once to pay for any kind of vacation (within a certain price range of course) if my sister (1992) and I (1996) pass our exam at KV Zurich Business School. With that great adventure in front of our eyes, we of course both passed. My sister then chose a trip to Scandinavia (Finland & Norway) and I went for a trip across Canada. My travel nerves got definitely tickled after this great trips. And for me it was sure to return once to the most beautiful city during my travels: Vancouver.

Until the year 2000 I spend a lot of Vacation with Travelling in Europe to cities like Prague, London, Kopenhagen, Vienna and many more. Also I spend a lot of time on beautifull Islands like the Canary Islands, Crete or Kos.

But my biggest dream came true in Fall 2000. I travelled along the west coast of the USA, stayed 3 months in Vancouver, travellend across Canada by Train and then by bus through the east of the US, heading south to Florida. During that great trip I lost my heart in two ways. I felt in love again with travelling and I met my wife during my stay in Vancouver.

A few years ago I was interessted in all kind of destinations but Asia. Somehow my heart couldn't warm up for the Asian Culture. But my wife "brainwashed" me and now I just love Asia, especially South Korea (Seoul, Jeju-do, Andong, Kyongju and many more) ! She somehow found the key to that locked door and now my mind is open to almost every destination in the world! You don't believe me? Check out my North Korea page....

Zurich, Switzerland

Thanks to my wife I started to travel more in my own country. I showed her our beautiful spots and I could realize again, how much I love my country, even though I want to travel as much as possible. To come back home means a lot to me as well....

Melacca, Malaysia

My next big career step is going to take place in Singapore! I got a three years contract and will spend the next 36 months travelling mostly in South East Asia. Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, Indonesia...
