We had been to Florence nearly 10 years ago and had enjoyed exploring the city, but this time we had only 3 or 4 hours there, in the middle of the day on a Saturday, between arriving for Lucca and catching the plane to Sicily.
Once again it was raining, but this time we were prepared so after leaving our bags at the station, struggling into our coats, and umbrellas at the ready, we walked down to via della Scala and the Officina Profumo Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella for a wonderful sensory experience. |
