This comfortable and airconditioned apartment with 2 bedrooms, a lounge dining room, kitchen, bathroom and entrance hall was comfortably furnished, well located and spotlessly clean. The kitchen and bathroom were rather old fashioned in terms of fittings but all the appliances worked and were more than adequate for our purposes. There was plenty of storage for our belongings.
The apartment was on the first floor of a 2 story building, entered throuh the traditional ground floor locked lobby.
There was no washing machine but there was a washing line (pegs were supplied) reached from either the main bedroom window or the balcony. Care is needed when hanging the washing as there is water below!
Unique Qualities: The apartment had a small balcony as well as windows facing a rio (Canal). There was a constant procession of barges, motor boats and gondolas for our entertainment.
There were locking shutters as well as windows allowing fresh air to circulate at night.
The apartment was only about 20 metres from Campo Santa Margheita so there food, drink and shops were to hand.
As we were on a shortcut through to the station there was a lot of pedestrian traffic over 'our' bridge, and some trolleys but except for a couple of nights there was little noise once it was dark, and if the windows were closed, almost nothing could be heard.
