The Secrets Within Santa Cruz

by Anthro - last update: Aug 27, 2004

Covered Bridge Park in Felton
Santa Cruz is a very hip area. Because things are so close to one another, you can enjoy the serenity of the mountains, the Pacific Ocean, amusement park rides, or the numerous shops and restaurants in the surrounding towns.
Loch Lomond

Visit The Hidden Jems

While in the Santa Cruz area, do check out the numerous hidden gems. Recently I visited Loch Lomond, very near Santa Cruz and Felton. It's one of these places that you will never find unless you lived in the area. Parking is $4 and there are boat rentals available. Canoes, kayaks, paddleboats, row boats, and small motor boats are allowed. This place was enormous but it was so beautiful.

What to See

There are so many things to do in the area. Here's a start:
Drive along HWY 1, the coastal route
Shop & Dine along Pacific Avenue
Visit the Boardwalk
Take a Drive to Capitola Beach
Visit Wilder Ranch State Park
Visit Big Basin State Park
Visit Pescadero
Go to Pigeon Point Lighthouse
Visit Ano Nuevo when the Elephant Seals are there (Dec-March)
Ride the steam trains from Roaring Camp to Santa Cruz
Visit the Mystery Spot
I dare you to do the 99 Bottles Challenge!
Visit the Santa Cruz Mission
Find your own beauty in nature

Pros:"Only a short drive from the Santa Clara Valley"
Cons:"Can be cold at times"
In A Nutshell:"Santa Cruz has it's own flavor, but it's savory!"
