While you are walking be aware very much of cars! It is not the US or Germany, that drivers tend to be nice and polite! Dont suppose they would stop, and also when it is green (go) for you, and cars are turning in your direction, always watch out! While travelling by public transport, always validate your ticket, because the travel company hired bouncers to act against those who dont. It is a big issue in the papers and the internet lately in Budapest, but you dont want to have any bad experiences, so just validate. Usually tickets must be purchased before you get on the bus/metro/whatever. We have two kind of machines the new one is orange and automatic, while some cases you find old red machines with the slot on the top where you place the ticket and pull the black part in your direction. It will make holes on the ticket.
