Welcome to Sarah and Paul's experiences gathered from our recent pedestrian trip around Western Europe - please don't expect any hardcore trekking or off the beaten track advice - pure tried and true holiday destinations on these pages!
From May to July, 2003 we travelled (on a budget!) for 6 and a half weeks, including stays in London, Stockholm, Germany, Switzerland, Italy and France - our first big trip together away from Australia - a huge success and only back two weeks and planning the next one! (Cheaper and closer to home next time, is a choice between Vietnam, Thailand and Japan!) Please let me know if any of the info is incorrect, I do my best at remembering details as I am not a diary kind of girl!

Japan 2004!!!!!

We went to Japan in November for my birthday (very cool pressie) and had an absolute blast!!! Will begin to build my pages as soon as I can, we have some really cool pics and top recommendations to pass on!

Stockholm...

Stockholm Harbour from Sodermalm

Man, this place rocks, we spent a week here and it completely sucked us in! We didn't want to leave! It is a beautiful city, yes, but has such a great vibe about it, relaxed and friendly and vibrant - and everyone is so gorgeous! Stayed at City Backpackers - one of the best in Europe - (free internet!), and you have to stay on a boat and wake up to sunrise over Stockholm harbour! We have to go back here, for sure!

Motorbike riding in the Swiss Alps!

This is unbelievable, if you ride, you have to do this! This is on en route through Grimsel Pass from Interlaken, James Bond car chase eat your heart out! Bikes rule the roads, and pillion passengers get the best views, absolutely breathtaking! The middle of summer and there is still snow, not to mention ancient glaciers, massive hydroelectric damns and gorgeous towns in the middle of nowhere! Pictures just dont do it justice but here is a nice try anyway! Loved it!

Almalfi Coast, Italy

Almalfi Coast Beaches....mmmmmmm!

We had a ball here - fireworks and saint's festivals greeted us, we just went to the beach and holidayed the Italian way! Sublime!

Getting Swept away by Verona

Verona ITalia!

The culmination of a little too much of the local Soave wine, Italian sun, a sparkling Piazza Bra with the roman Arena D'Verona in the background make for a ridiculously good night out in Verona!

Understated Bamberg

Bamberg Beauty

In the south east of Germany, we stayed here for a night because our guide book said we should - and we didn't regret it! There's nothing like staying above a German brewery! The town is picture book pretty and the people are lovely - heaps of German tourists!
