Torre is very touristy. If you visit during weekends you will probably get some traffic to get there, as there are a lot of visitors, the roads are narrow and personally I found that it has no infrastructures to receive so many visitors, such as a big parking space. Fortunately, we visited on a weekday and had no traffic or loads of visitors around. Torre has nothing to see apart from going up there – there are the tower, the observatory buildings and an ugly shopping centre. So, it was a disappointment to me. Nevertheless, you may get some thrill from being on the highest spot in mainland Portugal. There is also a ski resort but only when there is snow, obviously. :-)

Tourist Trap: Shopping centre in Torre

On the mountain's highest spot - Torre - there is a so called shopping centre. Actually, the shopping centre has 2 shops inside (during week-days, when I visited) one of them selling typical food such as cheese and bread, and the other selling leather products and snow related objects such as gloves, plastic things to slide, and so on. I got the idea that these products had an expensive price concerning their quality. But it's up to you to make your choice. I didn't buy anything there.
