18/11/03 we arrived in Auckland at 9.15 pm! In Auckland we visit Mt Eden ( a vulcano with a creature of 50 mtr) ALso have a look in Skytower its beautifull!
After Auckland we travelled to Paihia (it`s in the north of Northisland) It belongs to Bay of Islands and its really great in here! Lots of Islands and a beatifull nature!! We took a cruise organised by Fullers and was really fantastic! During the cruise we saw a Flying Fish (it can fly over the water about 300 mtr).
In the midday we did a walking track through the woods arrived in Opua we did a walk back along the beach to PahiaThe beachwalk was great! During the wood walk we saw a Kauri three!
After Paihia we took the bus back to Auckland because we met a guy there!! With this guy we travel from Auckland to Blof Harbour at the first of december untill.... by sailboot!
The next day we left Auckland and travelled to Rotorua! This is a really nice place to see! Things to see; thermael areas, geysers, mudpools, lots of birds! It only smells a bit in Rotorua because off the chemical processes of the thermeals!! But is really fantastic to visti!
After Rotorua we took the bus to Taupo! Here we rent a mountainbike and cycled to waitoma river and Huka Falls! Also we saw lake Taupo which is a big crater from a Vulcano!
From Taupo whe travelled to Napier but there`s nothing special and then we arrived in Wellington! Its a nice place to visit! Beautifull city centre! You can visit Te Papa museum (maori culture, animals, vulcanos, earthquake etc... ) This Monday is the premier of the lord of the rings ........
At the moment were back in auckland! We travelled by car from Wellington to Auckland following the west coast!! There was beautifull sight seeying and we stayed a night in New Plymouth!
Now were staying two days in auckland and then get the sailboat for one week to Bluff Harbour.
The week on the boat was really great! The first two days I was a little bit seasick but the rest of the time I enjoyed the trip!
We saw Bottlenosed and Duskydolphins and lots of birds (also the biggest seabird called Albatros). The weahter was beautifull but two days we had really rough weather when we passed Cook Strait. The last day we catched a fish and eat it!
From Bluff we went to Invercargill were we rent a car to travel around the southern Island! We first drove to Balclutha with a beautifull sightseeing near the coast at waipapa point, curio and porpoise bays. WE saw some seals on the beach! From Balclutha we drove to Lake Manapouri were I took a swim and then went to Lake Te Anau! In the Anau we rent a horse and it was beautifull to ride through the country!
By car we went to Milford sound. This is really a must see activity for everyone who`s visiting New Zealand once in theyre lifetime! From Milford sound we drove to Queenstown were we went up the remarkebles with a beautifull sighseeing on Queenstown! IN Queenstown Sjaak did the 134 m bungyjump and then we drove further to the Fox and Frans Jozef Glacier; this is also a must see activity.
After that we arrived in Nelson and Yesterday we went to the pancake rocks and blowholes! In Nelson we took a swim and relaxed a couple of days! From Nelson we drove to Picton and Kaikoura (where we saw a whale and some dolphins)
At the moment we`re in Christchurch and 25 dec. we fly back to Sydney at 4.00 am!
New Zealand is a lovely country to visit once in your lifetime! We enjoyed everything in here! A beautifull nature and great people
- Pros:The nature is amazing
- Cons:sandflies around millford sound
- In a nutshell:Can`t say a word about it!
