Got a special deal on the internet for this hotel THEN I read some reviews....... they knocked the place and I was dreading what I might find. BUT it was lovely, definitiely 5stars!!! Best location in Amsterdam, large room, enormous bed !!! The hotel was traditional but not at all "tired", everything in tip-top condition. What luxury - even a concierge in a top-hat. If you get the chance to go, take it - you might never stay in such luxury again.

Just one gripe and this will be useful for the ladies, the room description said hair dryer so I didn't take mine. The hairdryer was just one of those tacky things on the wall with no nozzle so take your own if you want to style your hair!!
Unique Qualities: The location cannot be beaten, right on the doorstep for sightseeing, shopping and red light district.
For sheer luxury you can't beat it.
