Warnings Or Dangers: Flight confirmation in Pakistan
  • Tip Rating:
  • Salut Mes Amis,

If you arrive in Pakistan by flight and you will take the same flight back then before laeving for mountains you better reconfirm your seats in the relevant
airline office in the main cities of Pakistan, like Islamabad, Lahore or Peshawar whether PIA or Qatar airways or Etihad.

As soon as you are in the areas like Chitral, Gilgit and Hunza sometimes the connection is not pretty promissing as a result you can not confirm it on phone.

    I welcome you to Pakistan,

    A bien tot

Warnings Or Dangers: Permits for Darra Adam khel, Peshawar
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • Bonjour mes amis,

It is for the info of the foreigners who come to Peshawar and besides Khyber pass, they want to take a trip to Darra Adam Khel (Guns market), that the permits to that area are
not issued by the Political agent office or the tribal office in Peshawar secretariat.

In terms of safety, this area is a bit dodgy, therefore it is requested to avoid this area during your trip to Peshawar on the other hand, take a trip to Khyber pass and sumgglers bazar.

I wish you happy travels to Pakistan.

Warnings Or Dangers: Muharam (Lunar Year) in Pakistan
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • salut mes amis,

The early days of the month of Muharram (Lunar calendar) in the Muslim world, as it's marked with mourning by the Shiites, so the processions're taken out, these days security's high alert all over south Pakistan (Peshawar, Lahore, Karachi,Quetta etc.), because these processions're targeted by the terrorists, so troubles're there for almost a decade, in shape of violance, clashes, suicide bombings, between Suniites and Shiites.

Therefore it's my request to the travellers, tourists and expats, who're in Pakistan these days , that keep yourself away from these processions.

    take great care of yourself,

    Imran Schah

Warnings Or Dangers: Solo female travelers in Pakistan
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • Salut mon ami,

US foreign offices, consuolates, like the step mother to Pakistan, the country which played the role of a frontline state in their sham war against terrorism (war against Islam), lost its numerous troops, citizens, on the border, in the tribal areas and cities, except a lip service, they only got these travel advisories, while ignoring the ground realities.

I acknowledge, there're areas, which pose security threats, likewise Khyber pass (Khyber agency), Swat valley, some other tribal areas, but nothing to do with north Pakistan, Chitral.

I just got back from Chitral to Peshawar yesterday, 10 hrs trip across Lowari pass, excellent trip and no threats.

Follow some tips, while traveling across Pakistan as a solo female traveler,

Wear local clothes, Shalwar, Kameez and dupatta.
Keep a lonelyplanet, footprints guide book with you, it'll help a lot.
If you plan to use a cell phone with local mobile service, always buy telenor, an excellent service, and always buy a card from any shop or franchise service, don't give you cell no to anybody.

People in north Pakistan, very friendly and wram welcoming, so you'd not face any trouble.

I welcome your queries, if any?

    Imran Schah
