An ancient city where have a long history from Funan - Chenla period - Ancient Khmer period - Lan Xang (ancient laos) period and used to be an independent Kingdom for a short period.So here in Champasak,you can find some remains of the past ,like Wat Phou in Ancient Khmer period,old royal Palace and royal cemetries.All tells how was the main city in Kingdom are. Nowaday,it 's just a small city lying parallel with Mekong river where local people still spend their simple life as the past.

When I was there I walked around the city within 2 hours,I found shophouses,local temples,royal temples,royal cemetry,some old goverment buildings,royal residences and local houses. And the other side of city 's a range of mountains. It was a wonderful moment for me.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Simple,peaceful&quiet.
Cons:Dusty and too quiet.
