SInce we only have a few months now until we leave the UK to head back to New Zealand, we both wanted to go somewhere one last time to a place neither of us had been. Answer - PRAGUE!
So we booked a last minute package hotel & flights holiday and just did it. We had five days in this wonderful city and all we did was mooched about, went to museums, shopped and of course ATE!

I had read about how cold it can get in Prague at Christmas, so we were well prepared and I was so hoping that it would snow while we were there. Since snow for us is a real novelty! There were flurries when we landed and on day 3 but that was it. The rest of the time is was brilliant sunshine - but my word was it cold. It never rose over 0 degrees celsius and it night it was about -10!! I don't think we could have asked for better weather though because it was perfect to walk about and enjoy the town without having to worry about rain or shelter!

What a perfect place to do all your Christmas shopping! Christmas markets in all the major squares as well as all the all the local traditional markets - like the Christmas Carp tanks! And there is nothing like rugging up warm in your winter woollies, stepping out in the crisp cold night and wandering around Old Town with a cup of hot wine in your hand! Sensational!
