We drove from Bergen on the E16- taking it easy as we had to get used to driving on the right side of the road (wrong for us!) and because it was raining. But we could still appreciate the scenery! Then we got onto the R13 and started the climb over the mountains over to Vik or Vikoryl as it's known to the locals. There are plenty of places like this to stop and take glorious photographs but at the very top is a lookout point. Far below us in that valley is a little village... Not sure of the name though. |
| | Stav Church in Vik This was my first Stav church and I have to say - it was quite impressive! Very stark but the contrast of the black tar and the green scenery behind was a photographers dream! Austin took this one and I am very happy with the result! Not a bad shot considering the angle! And I love the viking monsters at the top! |
| | Arhhh the serenity! Now I'm not one for churches and there has only been one church that has really stood out for me - St Marcos in Venice. But this was something out of the ordinary for me and I loved how it looked - dark and scary!! Unfortunately for us, it wasn't open but we did our best to peer into the windows! My second favourite church in the world!! |
