OXO Tower: If you have an expense account!
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • Satisfaction:
  • Restaurant Name: OXO Tower

A great place to go if you have no budget or if someone else is paying! Like all expensive places to eat the food is superb and the experience of going there is sublime! It's totally silver service but probably not as expensive as The Ivy or China Whites. And the great thing about it is, the views of London are fantastic!

Favorite Dish: The John Dory (fish) was excellent! So delicious! I was amazed they were even selling it as New Zealand John Dory. It was £45 but it just the best I have ever tasted! Amazing to think they had flown this fish from NZ to London to sell in a fancy restaurant when back home this fish is used in just about every fish and chip shop in NZ!!

Nandos!: Better than any fast food joint!
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • Satisfaction:
  • Restaurant Name: Nandos!

Nandos is a chain restaurant doing quite well in London. Having been a regular customer I can only sing it's praises. As far as fast food and take away food is concerned, this place is the only place I go! It's a Portugese themed restaurant but owned and started in South Africa many years ago.
You'll find them pretty much everywhere in London although I haven't seen it in the central city. There are branches in Shepherds Bush, Earls Court, Finchley Road O2 centre, Kilburn, Canary Wharf, Fulham, Ealing, Richmond... Everywhere.

Favorite Dish: They basically serve grilled chicken but in many different ways. My favourite being - in a pita pocket, with salad, cheese & pineapple. This comes with a devine mayo & Peri peri sause (the house speciality) which can be made as mild or as extremely hot as you like.
I haven't yet made it up past the medium stage as yet...
They also cater for vegetarians with salads & rice dishes.

    Vinopolis: If you like wine...
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]

  • Restaurant Name: Vinopolis

I went here for a friends Hen night and it was really nice. Unfortunately I wasn't feeling that great but the food was nice and the wine tasting was fantastic!
You can hire a wine professional to take you through three reds and three wines (more if you are prepared to pay more), then you get a three course meal for around £55 - which is steep I know but it's kind of worth it.
We had our tasting and dinner in the Cantina which is slightly cheaper than the main restaurant but just as nice!

Favorite Dish: The wine tasting was the best. The guy who took the tasting was very funny, charming and knew his stuff. Having not ever been though a tasting before it was extremely interesting and the wines were sensational. They do try and push you into making a purchase but we politely said no - since the cheapest bottle was about £22!! I usually don't spend more than £7! But it was something different for a saturday evening.

    SHISH: Sssssshhh it's....
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]

  • Restaurant Name: SHISH

There are a couple of these restaurants in London and although it's on the expensive side, they do have some nice food on the menu.

Favorite Dish: Eveything that I've had tried is pretty good. I have to say though that I have only been in the Willesden Green branch - not the Shoreditch one.

I think you are referring to "chavs". I didn't know what they were until I moved to England. This website should explain more to you! http://www.chavscum.co.uk/
