SHOP TILL YOU DROP! Bangkok is a paradise shopaholicīs haven, most famous for itīs bargain and many various flea markets (in doors and out doors). To name a few are the following we have been to: Chatuchak Weekend Market. To get there take the BTS SKY TRAIN (what a beautiful and so modern trains)then get off at Mo Chit Station), one of the largest weekend open-air flea market in the whold wide world! Then there is this other Market which you call Pratunam Market (to get there take the BTS Chit Lom Station) this I find it an exotic Asian fabric market; Suan-Lum NIght Bazaar (Rama IV-Wireless Roas Intersection). Then you have Siam Square (take the BTS Central Station) where you will see the Mahboonkrong (MBK) Center, Siam Centre and Sian Discovery Centre. These are just the few of their shopping places in Bangkok to name a few. |
CHATUCHAK One of favourite to shop in these whole wide world Chatuchak , Bangkok! These is just done over the weekend, that is the reason why they call these a weekener shopping...whatever easiest to understand by the public. First and above all when your in busy crowded places, we first have to gear you to purchase one of those good waist money belt. Have some cash handy perhaps inside a secured side pocket. We would advise you not to go through what happend to us, I only had credit cards but sidewalk ventors can't accept credit card and we had to find an ATM which felt like finding a niddle in a haystack....so best you have enough cash when you come to Chatuchak. Keep your eyes peeled for lots of raw talent, innovation and craftsmanship. And then there are some very interesting vendors who have been selling their merchandise at the market for decades, and it's clear that they love what they do. Even the very first time we came to Bankok. we took note of one of the very first things we noticed upon in Bangkok, you will find all kinds of food to eat and drink all over the market. Check out some of the unusual delicacies too, like grubs, frogs and scorpions, mostly deep-fried and spiced heavily. It's very easy to get your hands on an ice-cold pop or beer as well, which is often the best way to quench a thirst in extreme heat and much humidity. As long as you make sure to drink lots of liquids to avoid dehydration - and wear light clothing! Chatuchak is also like any other big market in the world; very crowdy and just too busy. So watch out for those dedicated pickpockets who pretend to be shopping but in truth they are shopping for your valuables and keep.. |
DIRECTIONS TO:CHATUCHAK A). skytrain (BTS) to Mo Chit station and exit down the right-hand stairs, follow the crowd for a five-minute walk, and you're there. Next option is: Subway (MRT) to Chatuchak Park station, and follow the signage directive. signage directives. For the plant and flower section, get off at Kampheng Phet MRT station (exit 3).
HOURS OPEN: 8:00am6:P.M weekends and Fridays (wholesale day). |
