A winter visit to Padre Island National Seashore

We flew into San Antonio from Augusta, Georgia on Delta. We got our rental car and drove down to Corpus Christi and on through a strip of hotels to Padre Island which is still a sleepy coastal area - still rather "undiscovered".
That was probably the most surprising and the best part of our three day stay there.

Try Seafood at Snoopy's

There are not many places to eat on "the island" as the locals call it.

Make this your "Choice" place to stay

A few new hotels have opened and there are Condos here and there.
There is camping at the National Seashore.

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:A Sleepy coastal area - a nice natural area
  • Cons:Not a lot for young children to do here for entertainment
  • In a nutshell:A nice place to enjoy some undisturbed beach area

I always wanted to get there, but never made it on my 20+ trips to Texas. Too far south for the trip. Maybe when I get back in college, I can enjoy the partying down there.

I enjoyed the information about what you learned from the park ranger. It sounds like a walking trip with a ranger is well worth the time.
