Cape Meares State Scenic Viewpoint

Cape Meares State Park is in Tillamook County. This view is from the Scenic Viewpoint. This is also a wildlife refuge. I had my first view of a Peregrine Falcon flying here from the rocks in the picture.
As with all Oregon beaches and parks there is no charge to enjoy the beauty found here.
There is also an interpretive center here for orientation about the whale migration on the Pacific Coast.

Cape Meares Lighthouse

This lighthouse is the shortest lighthouse on the Oregon Coast.
It is 38 feet off the ground. They have free admission into the lighthouse and the gift shop.

Inside the Lighthouse

There is quite a bit of good information inside about the Cape Meares Lighthouse. The giftshop has very nice things to look at and purchase for souviners. I'm not too much of a shopper but I did buy a nice tote bag here with a picture of the lighthouse on it. The procedes of the sales go to protect the lighthouse and the wildlife refuge.

Unfortunately this lighthouse was shot up pretty badly by vandals in January. Parts are repaired but they have closed off public access to the area around the light inside.

Which to cross and which to burn, that's quite profound. Maybe it's later than I think? Congratulations on being a teacher, from a retired teacher.

We have been here twice with our 5th wheel, but we missed the Cheese Factory. I'll have to remember it for next time. I agreed with all your tips.
