Limerick's difficult periods were famously described in Frank McCourt's book, "Angela's Ashes" .
However, with the opening of the University of Limerick there has been a marked change in fortunes.
Many multinational companies have been attracted to the city, among them Dell Computer being the biggest, employing thousands of people from the city and county.

I would pay a visit to St.John's Castle with pleasure.... I like limericks - funny little poems....
The photograph which is titled St. Mary's Cathedral Limerick is not correct. What is shown is a ruin and may be Quinn abbey.
Great photos!!! Can I borrow your King John's Castle one for my own VT page? Hard disk crashed and I'm photo less.
