Turmoil and Calm
The news growing up in the '70's of Belfast was that of fright due to The Troubles. Over the following decades the word was that Belfast had become calm and was a tourist destination.
Certainly Belfast was an enlightening experience for us. Just across the sea from England since we were in nearby Newcastle-Upon-Tyne why not visit this wonderful city? So we did. Very friendly locals and good food, a most interesting visit to the divided neighbourhoods too.
