Beijing, China

Temple of Heaven Park

The capital of China...

I go to China a lot since many of my relatives are there. I visited Beijing in September 2003 and saw many great sites, some of them for the first time. I saw the most popular attractions like Tiananmen Square and Gate, the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven Park, and Beihai Park. After arriving in Beijing from the U.S., we only had a few hours before boarding the train for Xuzhou, Jiangsu (my real hometown). And we only had one day in Beijing before boarding the plane to come back to the U.S.

Your gateway to China...

My previous visit (before September 2003) to Beijing was in 2000. That time we stayed in Beijing longer. I visited the campus of Tsinghua University. I also visited the Summer Palace that time. We did a lot of shopping downtown, which included shopping in the busy Wang Fu Jing area.

Beijing is the living heart of China. It is an important political and economic center. I also look forward to the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, which should be interesting.

Enjoy Beijing!

Tks for showing Tsinghua Uni! So much I want to see in Beijing... but I couldn't take dust & grey skies very long :-( Short trips from sunny Kunming might be the solution. :-))
