Church in Freising
Band playing in Freising's Beer Garden
Freising is located north of Munich in the heart of Bavaria. It is a friendly, comfortable country city. You will find a typical Beer Garden in the city, where you can enjoy traditional Bavarian food such as Bratwurst, Leberkase, and much more. Take a walk in the city center and have an ice cream cone. Then visit some churches on the hill. The churches are some of the oldest in the country.

Freising is only 15 minutes from the Munich International Airport (8 km) and has some great hotels. See this quiet little German city yourself! This is real Germany!

Pros:"You get to experience the real Germany without the big tourist crowds in Munich."
In A Nutshell:"typical Old Bavarian country city"

My mother was born in Freising and she took me there in 1969 for 3 weeks. I can see why she spoke fluent Latin; that's what they taught in convent boarding schools there. Excellent page, Yan!

Too bad you missed the Weihenstephan monastery, reputedly the oldest brewery in the world. I must say it's where I spent my one day in Friesing. Nice to see some other images of the city, thanks.

Freising is a wonderful town, right next to the airport! It has the lowest unemployment in Germany. Great place!
