Chicago At a Glance

Chicago is where I go to school, and it is without a doubt a great American city. It is the third largest city in the United States and I believe it is definitely the best in the Midwest. There are a lot of great sites to see in this culturally diverse city. You can climb up to the Sears Tower or the Hancock Building to get a good view of the city and Lake Michigan. If you are a museum fan, visit the Field Museum, Art Institute, and the Museum of Science and Industry, or just hang out at Navy Pier. Don't forget to try the Chicago deep dish pizza and Polish sausages and go to unique concerts and performances. Shop along Michigan Ave (The Magnificent Mile) and take cool pictures in Millenium Park. The people here welcome you to Chicago!
Chicago has pleasant weather in the summer as well as in late spring and early fall. Winter in Chicago is usually very cold and snowy. If you will be in the Windy City during the winter, bring an extra coat, gloves, and hat.

Chicago's Chinatown offers a diverse selection of Asian cuisine. Most of the restaurants are fairly cheap. Chinatown is easily accessible by the Red Line subway - get off at the Cermak-Chinatown station. There are many other ethnic communities like Greek Town and Pilsen.

Chicago's Museum Campus is home to the Field Museum, Adler Planetarium, and Shedd Aquarium - the largest indoor aquarium in the world. To get to these attractions, there's plenty of parking near the Museum Campus. The biggest parking lot is located in the South Lot, south of Soldier Field. From there you can take a free Chicago trolley to the Museum Campus. The free trolleys also take you to Navy Pier, Michigan Avenue, and the Sears Tower.

More specific information can be found in my travel tips. Enjoy Chicago!

The best restaurant in the chinatown area is the House of Fortune. We ordered the family meal for 2 and got three heaping platters of Lemon Chicken, Beef with Vegetable and a Mixed rice dish that was excellent.

Hi, not a big deal, but just wanted to mention that it actually isn't the 1st McDonald's. There were several out west, I believe California, before they came to Illinois.
