The City of San Francisco

San Francisco is one of the many popular travel destinations in the United States. Situated in coastal central California, the city is unique in many areas. One of the first things you'll notice is that unlike other U.S. cities, the city of San Francisco is not flat; it has a lot of steep hills where buildings and houses reside. The city is also famous for its cable cars which travel the hilly streets. Because it's located near the ocean, the city offers excellent, fresh seafood which you can find at the Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39. San Francisco also has the largest Chinatown outside of Asia. This is a great city that has a lot of diversity and a rich culture. Enjoy San Francisco!

The Bay Area

The San Francisco Bay Area also offers a lot of activities. The city of San Francisco is located on the western side of the bay. A technologically well-known area, Silicon Valley, is located around the southern side of the bay. The city of San Jose and many other smaller cities are located here. Oakland is located on the eastern side of the bay. Two great universities are located in the Bay Area as well: Stanford University and the University of California - Berkeley. You can fly into San Francisco, Oakland, or San Jose airports to get to the Bay Area. This travel page includes not only the city of San Francisco, but the entire Bay Area. Enjoy!

Yan, your description of Chinatown in SF is very accurate! As a working person in SF, I love going to Chinatown at lunch time. The Chinese restaurants there are the best.
