| | In December 2002, we visited this unique place on Earth, Death Valley National Park. The park is marked by its vast desert landscape and miles and miles of bare land. Surrounded by tall mountains, the park is known for its colorful rock formations and interesting canyons. The place contains the lowest point in the Western Hemisphere, Badwater. This park was worth the visit. |
How to get there... There are several entrances to Death Valley National Park. The park is about a 2-3 hour drive from Las Vegas. I used the entrance at Death Valley Junction. From Las Vegas, take U.S. highway 95 north. Turn left onto Nevada State Road 373 when U.S. 95 intersects with it. Then turn right onto California State Road 190 and you will enter the park. Enjoy Death Valley! | | | At the junction of U.S. Hwy 95 and Nevada SR 373. |

soundsgoodtome Wed Aug 27, 2003 05:57 UTC I have never been to Death Valley, but I will have to stop by on my next trip out west. Sounds like an interesting place. Good page. | XenoHumph Fri Aug 8, 2003 15:58 UTC Very nice page on this beautiful park! Personally I think it is great there is no restaurant in the park, I do not want a newmini Las vegas trashing the pristine desert just to feed fat tourists!! |
