Greetings! My name is Yan and I'm a world traveler currently living in the United States. I'm originally from China and have traveled all over the world when I was young. I'm currently a graduate student at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, a suburb of Chicago. I speak English, Chinese, and some German. After discovering VirtualTourist.com and joining this wonderful online community in 2003, my family and I have benefited greatly from the site's numerous useful tips and the photos of so many attractive places. Chicago, Illinois... my favorite city in the United States.
Los Angeles, California... including Orange County and Hollywood.
Xuzhou, China... my birthplace and a historic city in Jiangsu Province.
Munich, Germany... one of the best cities in Germany.
Victoria, British Columbia... the most beautiful city in Canada.
Freising, Germany... small, quiet city near Munich.
Trento, Italy... small, quiet city located in northern Italy.
Dalian, China... a wonderful, clean city in northern China.

From cities and towns to the mountains and beaches of the world, I dare to say that I've probably travelled a little too much. But that doesn't matter. I love travelling and experiencing other cultures. In my travel pages I have not included places to where I have travelled when I was young, because unfortunately I do not remember much about those places plus I do not have photos from those places in my computer. However, I have lots of photos from places I have been to recently, so please enjoy them!

I hope you will travel outside of your country and experience what life in another country is like. I believe this is something very important for a person to do. Please take my advice very seriously because you will gain a lot of knowledge about other cultures that you won't be able to obtain from books and television.
