Morristown was a suprise. It's close enough from New York to make the journey there for tourism or work. But far enough to feel like you're not a part of the hustle and bustle of New York.

The city centre is more like town centre. It's not big. It's got all you need. The suburban shop fronts the big Discount clothing retailer Century 21, and a few good bars. Then there's the row of banks, and the tourist centre to boot.

• Pros:Quant village feel just out of New York
• Cons:Need a car or to take the train to get around this place.
• In a nutshell:Morristown is a NJ township for families to grow up in.
