Booze, Cruise, and schmose

Airlie Beach is the gateway to the Whitsunday Islands in Queensland. It is the favoured stopover destination for backpackers between Cairns and Fraser Island. It's a great launching pad onto the reef, has a great lagoon to laze by or dip into, and most importantly cheap accomodation and lots of pubs.

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:Great supply of Hostel Accomodation
  • Cons:Not enough cheap eats. Too many players
  • In a nutshell:IT's a back packer destination being overtaken

Having worked there i can easily tell you that the menu states you can have any combination you like. E.g. if you do not want Avo get a roll made without it

Nice report on Airlie Beach. Many beach resorts- Virginia Beach and Myrtle Beach, SC are especially guilty of this- charge king-sized prices for a pittance of food.
