If you're not making only a one-day trip to Røros it is a good idea to hire one of the numerous cabins in the surrounding area. Cabins (hytte) are very popular among Norwegians.

For a group of 4 or more this can also be the cheapest accomodation! (of course, don't expect breakfast served in rooms - you're on your own here :-)
