Route 66 Brewery: Route 66 Brewery Route 66 Brewery Review

I stopped in here for lunch as I fancied a drink. A selection of 6 'full-time' beers together with a rotating selection of at least 8 others gives you plenty of choice regardless of the type of beer you prefer.

Food is standard Bar fare but well prepared, hot and served promptly.

Recommended

Favorite Dish: I wanted something light so I just had an appetizer, the toasted beef ravioli (a local creation) which is excellent.

Amongst the beers on offer I tried both the Classic Blonde Ale and the River City Red; both are well worth a try.

Hannegan's Restaurant & Pub: Hannegan's Restaurant & Pub

If you have read my Nightlife tip, you will understand why I was pleased to find this place still open.

Apparently built as a replica of the U.S. Senate Dining Room, Hannegan's richly appointed decor is intended to capture the memories of the 1940s political scene..although I'm not sure how the big screen TV (not pictured) fits in.

The menu offers a wide range of creative American cuisine. Lunch and dinner can be served outdoors 'street style'.

Hannegan's specializes in tour groups, rehearsal dinners and business meetings.

Jazz bands are, allegedly, featured on weekends but not during my visit.

I visited on a Sunday night so the serving staff were not under any pressure. Nevertheless, the place was clean and the food arrived promptly.

Favorite Dish: Jack Daniel's BBQ Chicken with Garlic Mash.

Hmmmm....tasty.
