"Danger and History" Youngstown by Reporter_ygst

Youngstown Travel Guide: 8 reviews and 11 photos

This is a city that can be very dangerous to the rash and stupid. I suggest that you always lock your vehicle. Learn which areas are "safe". Oddly enought, perhaps the safest way and easiest way to see the city is to use the bus lines. You can travel the Belmont and go almost to Warren. You can ride the south side version of the same bus and travel to Boardman. All for a inexpensive rate - and within safe environmnet.

If you want drugs - go elsewhere - for while this is a city with a lot of drugs - the unwary can find unexpected problems.

To find out about this city and the region, just seach the web regarding former Congressional Representative Traficant.

Hidden treasurers are the Labor Museum, Mill Creek Park's Mill, and the many lovely churches in the region.
& end

The KKK had large marches in this region during the 1930's. After 1994, there were a few convictions of the local Mafia.

This town once was the headquarters of many major corporations; some were steeel, some were "fast food", and some others. FOr yourself, investigate about the last major firm in topwn - PharMor.
