Despite being from a poor family in Sri Lanka, I got to see places on the island. I was fortunate that my dad's and mom's families were much into discovering places.

My international travel began when I went to Japan to study petroleum engineerig. By then my family had moved to Brunei on account of dad's job assignment. I have now lived in 6 countries, including Canada where I live in Calgary, Alberta.

I like the cold weather though I was born and raised in Jaffna, Sri Lanka, one of the most arid and hottest areas of the country.

Discovering remote mountain villages in a country is my biggest calling - e it the Amazon in Peru, the mountains en-route Watampone from Makasaar in Sulawesi, Indonesia or the jungles around Ladang Binuang, an unknown village even to the people of Sabah, Malaysia. Toward this end, I reserach countries on the Internet and chat with people on Yahoo Messenger and Windows Live Messenger (MSN).

My hobby is expensive and that restricts how much I can do. I have several Sony & Canon still & video cameras, DVD players/recorder and softwares for editing photos and videos.

It's my dram to be a photo-journalist but will that ever come true?

Ive retired now. I spend time both in Canada and Singapore. When in Asia, I avail myself of the budget air fares and hotels whenever the budget permits and catch up on the region which I've missed for more than 20 years while working in Canada.

In the past 2 years, I've been to Indonesia, Malaysia and Sri Lanka a few times. Photographing people and places, diligently editing, organizing the photos and notes in sequential order and posting them on the internet have become a disciplined effort of late.
