Houston is a great city I've been happy to call home for 20 years. I know many people think Houston is too hot or too spread out but geography is not what makes the city so appealing. The people here have enormous hearts and are very welcoming to newcomers. The city is home to hundreds of different ethnicities all adding a piece of their native lands to the culture. The nightlife in Houston has something for everyone, from upscale dance clubs to dark Irish pubs. Houston is the restaurant capital of the US offering everything from sushi to American hop-diner cuisine. The theatre district is home to such world renowned theatres as The Alley, Jones Hall and Wortham. I am a medical student so I have to mention that Houston is also home to the largest medical center in the world, where both breast implants and Viagra were created. Do we have our priorities straight or what? The friendly people, cultural diversity, great nightlife, a million restaurants and the acclaimed arts and sciences make Houston a pretty wonderful town. |
