ARRIVAL & HOTEL ..... This is not a bad airport to fly in to... didn't feel overwhelmed. Transportation to our hotel was inexpensive ($4 on one of the small buses outside the airport), efficient, and courteous. Hotels are so numerous-- be sure to ceck for Internet Specials. We chose the Gold Coast, which has a free shuttle to the strip... and Bally's ($35 and $55). The Gold Coast was very relaxed... Bally's had BIG rooms! |
GETTING AROUND....... Taxis are very expensive... buses are numerous but slow. Be sure to pick a hotel that has transportation in the evening hours. Many have shuttles to their "sister" properties which are free. From the Excalibur you can ride to the Luxor and Mandalay Bay. It may look close.... but it isn't! Be careful of walking in the heat... the blocks are very long, and the next casino ALWAYS appears to be closer than it is! |
