A quick visit to Barcelona

La Boqueria
Now that I have friends in Barcelona I try to go to visit them when I can. In Feb 2008 we ate calçots, visited some tapas bars, toured with a local guide and celebrated carnival.
Dried fruits at the Boqueria
One of the top things on my list was to visit the Boqueria market which I did. Why don't we have something so wonderful in Madrid? I think I'll move to Barcelona for awhile just so I can cook with the goodies I saw at the market.
Sagrada Familia

La Sagrada Familia

The last time I had visited the Sagrada Familia was in 1995 so it was fun to see how much work has been done since then!

Enjoy my pictures, Not sure if the tips will be too helpful but hopefully it will whet your appetite for your own visit!

ilargitxo, you are right, Also Pan con tomate but that is maybe not as specific for describing the Catalan way of doing the garlic and tomato. And like it or not in Madrid and outside Spain they use "pan tumaca" in some restaurants.
