For a two days stay, I think we made a good choice. This pousada is a thing of beauty. The personel was extremely friendly and helpful. All places such as the restaurant, bar and the terace outside, were very clean and fitted out with marvellous decorations and furniture.
Only the rooms were not of a high standard, in any case, not for the price you pay for.
As the pousada is build on a hill, it's not to recommend to people with a weak heart or not being a good walker.
On demand, you can sleep in the old part of the building, where you can find some monk cells transformed into rooms.
Unique Qualities: Located just outside the city centre, this fine Pousada is considered to be one of the best in Portugal. It is housed in a 12th century St Augustine convent which has been sumptuously adapted to the comforts of today.Other outstanding features are the cloisters, fountains & Azulejos.
The Pousada of Santa Marinha da Costa is described as being the jewel in the already glittering crown of Portuguese Pousadas. It is the biggest and by far the most impressive of all the Pousadas.
