Springville Travel Guide: 12 reviews and 30 photos

In 1860, William C. Daunt build a Store, Bar, and Rest Stop for Sheepmen, Lumbermen, or Travelers who were traveling in and out of the mountain area. The Daunt Post Office was established February 18, 1886 at this location. Daunt's Daughter, Fanny married Avon Coburn, who laid out the present town of Springville and built a mill and box factory at the soda springs. After Daunt Store burned down in 1897, the Post Office was moved into Coburn's Store at Springville, however the Post Office contiued to be called Daunt untill it changed to Springville January 24, 1991 since the town was popular for its fresh spring water.

This chimney is all the remains of the Daunt Store, Bar, and Rest Stop. It is located on the grounds of the Tule River Historical Museum.
