Hiking Mount San Jacinto State Park - Palm Springs
Hiking Mount San Jacinto State Park San Jacinto State Park Review

No permit is required since your already a guest of the Aerial Tramway. They are several trails here you can enjoy. We did the first trail and I did that in flip flops, don’t recommend it, but I survived:)

The first is Long Valley Discovery Trail, just follow the nature trail post around a ¾ mile (1.2 km) loop. This easy level trail provides an excellent introduction to the Parks plants and animals. No feeding the animals.

Desert View Trail: A 1.5 Mile (2 km) trail leads to a number of scenic overlooks and forest views. Short climbs, moderately strenuous.

PERMIT REQUIRED (FREE)

See President Abraham Lincoln on the mountain - Palm Springs
See President Abraham Lincoln on the mountain

Their is a look nook of a shoping area off the main street, there are lots of these little mall areas. This one is called Henry Frank Arcade.

You will see this wooded sign that says FREE Historic Sight Sign, so follow it and it will take you towards the front of Siddhi Tree Jewelry. Here you will see another wooded sign and this pipe, which if you view it through it at a certain time you are suppose to see a shadow that looks like President Abraham Lincoln on the mountain. Not sure if it is true, but it looks like fun if your in this area during sundown.

Best time to view is at sundown.

Palm Springs Walk of Stars

There are 320 stars and the criteria to have a star placed is to be in show business who have distinguished themselves as actors, producers, directors, playwrights, cinematographers, musicians, either on Stage, Radio, Film, and/or Television, as well as persons who have otherwise become prominent in the field of Entertainment, and have greatly contributed to the worldwide prominence of Palm Springs.

This little gem of history is tucked right down in the middle of town. It has the McCallum Adobe and the Cornelia White House with memorabilia of Palm Springs pioneers and Ruddy's 1930's General Store Museum and the Agua Caliente Cultural Museum. What also is wonderful is many historical markers , bronze sculpture, and a beautiful fountain of native pottery that are the center piece. Just so lovely.

THE FABULOUS PALM SPRINGS FOLLIES - Palm Springs
THE FABULOUS PALM SPRINGS FOLLIES

I overheard many locals that highly recommend when you come to Palms Springs looking for some wonderful entertainment that the follies’ is a wonderful source of entertainment. It is located in the historic Plaza Theatre. It originally opened December 12, 1936, for the world premiere of the now-classic motion picture Camille. It entertained for many years until it went into decline due to other sources of entertainment and it closed in 1987, but not before suffering the like many other theatres in having a wall built down the center and becoming a twin auditorium as to show more movies. But 1991 one of Palms Springs city father retired television producer Riff Markowitz came up with a wonderful idea to keep this wonderful establishment alive. Thus, the follies were born.

Tickets may be purchased by calling the Box Office at 760 327-0225 or online.

PALM SPRINGS VILLAGE FEST - Palm Springs
PALM SPRINGS VILLAGE FEST

A coworker told me about this, but unfortunately we were leaving Thursday and would miss this. Yet, the next time we come we are surely going to check this out, but wanted to share this event with you. Every Thursday evening, Downtown Palm Springs streets are closed off so people can roam safely. They transform the street into a festival with all kinds of artists, artisans, entertainers, and vendors that offer fresh fruits and veggies, flowers, jewelry, snacks and sweets. Plus you still have all the wonderful the great shops, restaurants, clubs, and entertainment venues located all along Palm Canyon Drive - and Village Fest is dog friendly too!

October - May 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM June - September 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM
