Cajon Pass

Oak Hills is one of those wonderful small high desert communities that sits along the Interstate 15 and the Cajon Pass. Not much information is out there about this community other than it was incorporating in 1952. Yet, it has a fantastic restaurant called the Summit Inn, which began as a roadside eatery of Route 66 patrons.

This photo was located in the ladies room...lol! I just had to take a picture of this because of all the history!

empty now, jammed then. like the Red Apple Rest in Tuxedo NY on old rte 17. lines down the highway just for the parking lot in the summer back when. then the thruway. now owned by a few afghans, deserted, decrepit, but it still has the name. the summit is so cool.

Anything that has to do with Route 66 fascinates me. Your "Blast from the Past" tip was great.
