California is where I was born and mostly raise at.
People make fun of California the state of fruits and nuts, a very derogative term, fail to realize that many Californians are transplants from other states who have migrated here to experience employment, the sunshine, beaches, surfing, skiing, hiking, fishing, famous mountain parks such as Yosemite and Giant Redwoods, Hollywood, Disneyland, and the list can go on. We Californians are pretty much laid back. We are proud of our state and all it has to offer:)
California is just more than the glizz of Hollywood and LA. There are vast ranges of land with rollings hills and have so many beautiful parks that are considered the best in world. So visit and explore:)
California is a gold medal winner in a number of categories. The state's farmers produced more than $27.5 billion in farm value in 2002. California has lead the nation in agricultural production for more than 50 years. California agriculture is a diverse blend of valleys, foothills, coastal areas and deserts where a bounty of high-quality agricultural products are grown.
Foreign buyers have a yen for California-grown commodities. In fact, the state is the leading farm exporter in the nation with $6.5 billion in agricultural exports in 2001. More than 2 million acres in the state produce for the export market led by almonds, cotton, wine, grapes, dairy products and oranges. Canada is the state's largest single customer, followed by Japan and Mexico.
If California were a country, it would be the sixth leading agricultural exporter in the world. The state's agricultural industry sells an average of $18.2 million in farm exports daily to destinations far and wide
Almonds $686
Cotton $605
Wine $471
Table grapes $395
Dairy products $322
Top Export Markets(in millions $)
Canada $1,137
European Union $1,024
Japan $948
China/Hong Kong $321
South Korea $278

California Facts
While traveling along Highway 108, you pass through the heart of the Sierra Nevada mountian range. I can't tell you how beautiful and peaceful it is. Had to stop off and spend the night in a very small town called Bridgeport on our way to visit Bodie.
- Pros:The state of sunshine and opportunities:-)
- Cons:Hmmm, all states have their faults, you decide!
- In a nutshell:I am proud to be from California! Please visit us!

I have only visited San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego (and a few places inbetween). There are so much to see in California and I should defenitely come back one day. Great tips Dee! Just came back to read the rest of the page!
Wonderful tips and photos. So many museums and things to do here :)
Amazing travel pages on California with so many beautiful photographs. California indeed has lots of great tourist attractions. We will certainly visit Los Angeles and San Diego one day. Thanks for your visit to our Sweden travel pages. ~ho & pang
Thanks for your visit to our Ontario page. Excellent California tips. Very interesting. Will be back for more...
Enjoy browsing through your tips Dee. Well done completing the Palm Springs Tramway. I know how you feel, I could not walk on the glass floor CN Tower Toronto, but mastered the Shanghai TV Tower last week.
Me again, coming back to look at some of your more recent Things to Do tips. California really seems inexhaustible, since you keep finding more and more interesting places. I think it's fascinating when places are preserved in a state of "arrested decay".
Good to be visiting your informative pages again ! Ron Reagan is the type of "Man" the world needs today ;-)))
So many superior additions, Dee. Loved Tallest Thermometer, Harvey Girls, UniRoyal Gal, Mystery House, Parks, James Dean Memorial and much more. Dee...amazing pictures; you've captured the beauty.
Hello, Dee! Your travel stories are always interesting to read and your pictures are superb! Thanks! ><><
WONDERFUL page with excellent well researched & presented tips, Dee. I would love to see the James Dean memorial & Winchester Mystery House! Will return here- in the midst of unpacking now as we have moved apartments.
