Watch for Bears

Although I never saw one, evidently Seldovia has plenty of bears. They are black bears and not the large brown bears. Unfortunately sometimes tourists feed them and they get used to getting things from humans. Then they can cause problems. Near the Bear Paw B&B in south Seldovia they were having a problem with a bear trying to get into houses. The police chief was trying to trap and release it elsewhere. The trap was closed when I went by the first evening, but it was empty and had just been closed for the day. I noticed that most people have dogs. That also helps keep the bears away.
