Big Changes Since the 1950's

Makati is home for many multi-national corporations and important Philippine companies. Many international banks and embassies are located in Makati, along with two huge shopping malls, Glorietta and Greenbelt. All the land was once owned by Jaime Zobel de Ayala. As you can see in the background, high rise buildings are still going up.

Pros:Corporate offices; shopping; more affluent area
Cons:More expensive; traffic
In a nutshell:Good location for airport, doing business/shopping and touring Manila

Nice tips to update Makati. I lived there is late 1970s, and miss it still. Back then exchange rate was 7pesos/dollar. Felt like a king! Doug

Hi Ray! I live on the same street as St. Illian's and I have to say that the location is perfect. Walking distance from the malls, pubs and restaurants.
