Just Got Back From Beautiful Whitsundays and an impromptu visit to Dunk Island. Ive been to the Whitsundays a few times now and I have been wary of some of the Island stories I have heard but fortunately I didnt have to worry with Dunk; this was an great place to visit. It was well maintained, modern with its facilities and dare I say it, organised ! By that I mean our lugage was in the room before we were; we only had to pull out papers once, the rest was communicated from reception to restaurant to luggage storage to equipment hire kiosks; charges were accurate and pickups and wake up calls on time. I loved the all inclusive breakfast and dinner, no wallet necessary anywhere we went and we never went hungry. In fact I'm a bit miffed I've put on weight, the menu was so good I couldn't resist. We were originally going to stay at Brampton Island but we left it to the last minute and it sold out. Dunk wasn't far behind it in being sold out as well and not an island I thought of, but the travel agent recommended it. Unfortunately I didnt know a thing about it, and as someone who loves to do their research before travelling, that made me a bit anxious but we booked it sight and review unseen anyway. I am happy to say though it was a very positive outcome and I can't wait to get a group together and go back. So much to see and do I didn't fit all in in 5 days

Though right on the main beach of Dunk Island, these villa like rooms are up either end and so away from the [mild] noise of the main restaurant and bar. There is plenty of peace and quiet, though there may be a few hikers quietly meander by on their way to the rainforest I found these to be quite private. Being able to tep out of your front door to the beach doesn't hurt either

A short walk through some of the rainforest and you can go to a snorkelling beach away from the main part of the resort. I loved it here. So quiet and close to the green water and checking out some reef life.
