The Bellagio hotel opened in 1998 and at that time was the most expensive hotel ever built costing $1.6 billion (90 million pound's)
When i first saw this hotel on my first visit in 2003 i knew that one day i would have to stay here, and happily for me that wish came true in August of 2005, when i stayed here for 4 days/nights,and it was everything i expected and more.
I got a great deal for $149.00 + tax a night for a lake view room on the 23rd floor, which included a Friday stay,as well as the day of my birthday.
The hotel is very classy with a wonderful lobby area, the fantastic conservatory and of course the famous and spectacular fountains, which are still the best free entertainment in Vegas in my opinion, and even better when you have a view from your own room.
The service i received my whole stay was great,i was able to check in before midday which was very welcome, although of course that depends on how busy they are at any particular time of the year.
My room was spacious with a very comfortable king bed,2 single sofas,a large wardrobe containing a big tv,2 tables and chairs,2 bedside tables with lamps and a radio alarm clock, and best of all bedside switches where you can open and close the curtains without even leaving your bed.
The bathroom was also large and very nice indeed, with both a shower and bath.
I am not an expert on hotel pools but in my opinion this one here at the Bellagio is the nicest i have encountered at any of the hotels i have stayed at in Vegas.
I am sure i will stay here again in the future, and again i am sure it will be a wonderful experience.
Since writing this i have stayed here once again in August of 2006,and just as the first time it was a great experience and imo its still the best hotel in Las Vegas.
Unique Qualities:
The Bellagio is owned by MGM Mirage and has a pool,a wedding chapel, fine shopping at"via Bellagio"where shops include names such as Gucci,Chanel and Armani.
The casino has 200 gaming tables and over 2,000 slot machines.
They also have a gallery of fine art,and even the lobby ceiling is a work of art made from colored glass, and certainly worth seeing.
One of the hottest night clubs in Vegas is also here in the form of "Light" which open's Thursday to Sunday inclusive from 10.30pm until 4.00am.
You will also find the Cirque du Soleil show "O" here which runs twice nightly, every night apart from Monday's and Tuesday's.

I stayed at Thehotel for the first time in August of 2005 and it is without doubt one of the best,if not the best hotels i have ever stayed in.
Only completed in 2004,its 43 stories high and has 1,117 suites with a separate living room and a bedroom, as well as a bathroom and another toilet room.
There are 3 plasma tv's,with one in the living room, bedroom and even the bathroom.
The bed is as comfy as any you are ever likely to sleep in.
With wall to wall, ceiling to ceiling windows you get a fantastic view of either the strip to the north, or the mountains/airport to the south.
Of course this luxury comes at a price, and with rooms costing anything from a low of around $160.00 up to anything over $400.00 over the weekend it does not come cheap, but if you can afford it and are looking for some of the very best accommodation in Vegas then you wont go wrong with this hotel.
It is right at the end of the south strip which means a lot of walking, unless you have a car or take a taxi often, but apart from that its a wonderful hotel.
Thehotel does not have a casino or pool of its own but shares Mandalay Bays, which are easy to get to just by walking through connecting walkways.
My friend and i loved this great hotel and would stay here again in the future without hesitation,if the price was reasonable.
Unique Qualities: 3 Plasma TV,s is Unique For Sure.

I stayed at the Signature for a few days in January of 2007,and a very nice experience it was indeed.
I had a junior suite, which cost $159.00 a night plus a $15.00 (+tax) daily resort fee,for which you receive a newspaper and a couple of bottles of water each day.
The Signature consists of 3 towers located at the rear of the MGM Grand hotel.
There is a walkway from each tower leading to the inside of the MGM,with part of the way having moving walkways to speed things up.
It took me under 3 minutes to get from tower 1 to the MGM,although i am quite a fast walker.
Once you get to the MGM you are situated at the South end of the hotel, very close to the pool entrance.
Obviously you then have to walk to and through the casino, and from there another walk to get onto the strip.
The room itself is large and modern with a King bed,Big plasma tv and its own kitchenette. There is also a safe and 2 robes for guests.
Most rooms have a balcony with some having views of the strip.
The bathroom has a spacious walk in shower and a jet powered tub,as well as a small tv by the sink.
Service was good, and staff were always pleasant and helpful when needed.
Each tower has its own private pool (it was Jan when i was there so did not use it) and you can also use the various pools at the MGM if you desire.
The Signature is a non smoking hotel.
I loved staying here and the walk did not bother me in the least.
I would stay here again without hesitation if the right offer came along.

I stayed at the Wynn in August of 2005 and a very nice experience it was indeed.
Its the newest of the strip hotels only opening a few months ago as i write this and having cost $2.7 billion not surprisingly its a top class 5 star hotel.
The hotel is named after its creator Steve Wynn, who also created the Bellagio, the Mirage and Treasure Island.
There are over 2,700 rooms,an 8 storie man made mountain,a night club and an incredible 18 hole golf course, that at this moment in time costs a staggering $500 a round.
Of course being a 5 star hotel prices for everything are not cheap, with the average nightly rate around $170.00 weekdays, and a lot more during the weekend.
The rooms are spacious and colorful, and the wall to wall ceiling to ceiling windows give a fantastic view of either the strip and golf course,or the fields of dreams mountain.
There is a large plasma tv in the main room,as well as a smaller one in the bathroom.
The only negative thing i encountered during my stay here was the service, which overall was generally slow and chaotic, but seeing as the hotel had only been open a few months hopefully that will be ironed out as time goes by.
Of course i would want to stay here again in the future,if the price was right.

The Venetian hotel has always been a great place to visit on any trip to Vegas, but on my 4th trip in 2005 i was lucky enough to stay here for a couple of nights, and a very nice experience it was indeed.
The room is very long, with the steps dividing the living room from the sleeping area giving it the impression of being 2 separate rooms rather than one.
The bedroom area has a very comfy king bed,2 bedside cupboards with lamps, phone and alarm clock and a wardrobe at the end of the bed containing a large tv. there is also a safe just to the left of the wardrobe.
The living room area has another large tv,a double sofa and 2 single sofas,2 tables and chairs,
The bathroom is probable the biggest in Vegas in a standard room, and is very impressive indeed with both a shower and bath,2 sinks set in a lovely marble top and little extras such as a sewing kit, make up lamp and robes, which you can wear during your stay here.
As all 5 star hotels its not cheap, but if you search around you can find good deals as i did when i got this wonderful room for only $100.00 a night, although i did upgrade to a room with a view for an extra $30.00 a night, which was well worth the extra money in my opinion.
I loved this hotel and would without hesitation stay here again in the future,if the price is right.

This was my 2nd time staying at the Flamingo, but my 1st in one of the newly renovated GO rooms.
The rooms are the same size as the old standard rooms but have now been decorated in a very modern style, which some people will like and some not.
Personally i liked it a lot,and the addition of a 42" plasma tv in the living room, and a smaller tv encased in the bathroom mirror was really cool.
The colors are mostly white brown and pink, with various hi-tech lights situated at various places.
The bed was very comfortable, while the bathroom had a shower and a bath.
There is a safe, which i always enjoy and need.
There are 2 GO room types,GO Deluxe and GO Luxury.
Both GO rooms cost $50.00 more than a standard room, with the GO Luxury room costing an extra $30.00 for which you get a guaranteed strip view.
I enjoyed my room and stay and would have no problem staying here again in the future,if the price was right.

I stayed at the Mirage hotel for the first time in August of 2006 and it was as nice as i expected it to be.
Another of Steve Wynn's creations the rooms are decent sized, although the bathroom was slightly smaller than i anticipated with only a bath and no shower.
The color scheme is creamy and light and there is a safe which is always a bonus imo.
I had a great view of the south strip as well as the pool below.
Of course the Mirage is most famous for the erupting volcano that goes off periodically every night of the week.
The pool area is one of the nicer ones in Vegas and of course because of this is can get rather crowded,so get there early to get a good seat.
Also here is the Cravings buffet, which is one of my favorites.
Overall a very classy hotel which i would not hesitate to recommend,as well as stay at again in the future.

I stayed at the Barbary Coast hotel for 5 days in February 2004,and cant fault it on anything.
The location is great and the prices low, compared to a lot of hotels along the strip.
My room was large with 2 queen beds,2 tables with chairs, and a sideboard.
Although there was no wardrobe there was a small unit next to the bathroom with hangers to hang your clothes on,although it would be a little cramped for more than one person.
There was a decent sized shower, sink and bath and plenty of clean fresh towels,as well as 2 good sized mirrors.
I had a view of the side of the Flamingo hotel, with a little of the strip visible, but i was not bothered about a view so no problem there.
I was in room 339 on the 3rd floor only about 25 yards from the elevator, which was never more than half full during my stay.
The casino is smaller than a lot but easy to find your way around, and the slots are not as tight as some.
Plenty of places to eat including the award winning Michael's and Drai's,as well as the Victorian room where i had a 16oz t.bone steak dinner for only $12.00.
Tuesday to Friday you can hear big Elvis(Pete Vallee) in the lounge from 3pm until 6pm,and he puts on a great show which i enjoyed very much.
I really like this hotel and will be looking to stay here on my next trip to Vegas in the future.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have since stayed here another 3 times,August of 2004,February of 2006 and lastly in July of 2006.
The 2nd time i stayed here i had a king room, which are located on the opposite side to the queen rooms facing Ballys, giving a great view of most of the south strip and part of the Bellagio fountains.
Since my 2nd stay in 2004 the rooms have been renovated, and a new 42" tv has replaced the old smaller one.
Unique Qualities: One of the best things about the Barbary Coast is that because its the smallest hotel on the strip it only takes a couple of minutes to get from your room to the street, unlike some other hotels where it can take ages.

I stayed here for a couple of nights in March of 2006 and a very enjoyable experience it was indeed.
My room on the 25th floor was spacious with a very comfortable bed and a decent sized bathroom, all decorated it a cream beige, which looks very nice.
There was a safe, hairdryer, iron and ironing board if needed.
There is a pool which was closed during my visit so i cant comment on that, although it did look a tad smaller than others i have seen on various trips in the past.
Service was good during my brief stay, and i would not hesitate staying here again in the future, given the right deal.
Unique Qualities: One of the best features of this hotel is the lifts.
There were 2 lifts allocated for just my floor and the 5 floors above,so they were never too overcrowded and the waits were never that long, although to be fair i was not here on the weekends, which naturally are much more crowded.

I stayed here for the first time in the winter of 2006 and despite it being one of the older hotels along the strip i enjoyed my stay and would be happy to return again in the future.
The location cant be beat as its right in the center of the action, and some good cheap deals can be found depending on the time of year of course. I paid just under $50.00 a night for my room which is excellent value.
The rooms are slightly worn but fine imo, decent sized with a comfortably bed,tv,at least 3 chairs and a average sized bathroom.
The Flamingo wildlife habitat is well worth checking out with fish, flamingos and various birds on show although the penguins have now sadly departed to another location aweay from Vegas.
As i was here in February the pool was not yet open, but it is well known for being one of the biggest and best in Vegas,so if you stay here in the Summer you can see for yourself if thats the case.
