Eivissa, also called Vila for the locals and Ibiza for the foreigners, is a lovely place. Is one of my favourite places at the islands and also one of the most beautiful places that I ever have visited.

The pitty is (I guess everybody knows), the excessive tourism, especially in the Summer months of July and August. But at the same time this is one of the reasons that makes a lot of people decide to come to the island: the ambient and the non-stop crazy nights. If you are looking for this don't try to visit the island in other season or you could be disappointed.

But if you are one of those few (really few :) tourists that comes to the islands looking something more than just beaches and discos you could have a great surprise about this lovely place out of the peak season.

As it happens with Palma, visitors think often in Eivissa as the whole island, but locals have a different concept for Eivissa the city and Eivissa the island. This page is only about the Eivissa municipality (painted in yellow at the map). This municipality is one of the smallest of the islands (11,14 sq.km.) but is the second in number of inhabitants (40.175) after Palma.
