Dubrovnik is by many the most beautiful town in Croatia. As a biiig, proud patriot - I could not agree more.
However, I find it VERY unexciting to waste my life stuck in one place (as my motto says...). This is why I try to "take off" at least 3 times a year. As you can see from my page - I have seen few places. Many more to go. Man - I love to travel!

"Shhhhhh.... Don't tell anybody about the best-kept secret in Europe - Croatia. Lets keep it among ourselves that this is a great place to visit before the masses find out about it and turn it into another Greek Islands. Seriously, Croatia is probably my new favorite country in Europe for all it has to offer - incredible Mediterranean scenery (including the cleanest water in the Med), perfect weather, friendly people, gorgeous women...I mean great food, and an off-the-beaten-path, undiscovered feel.

Croatia is one of the newest countries in the world. It declared its independence from the former Yugoslavia in 1991 and gained worldwide recognition by 1992 - but well-known fighting (think Bosnia) continued until 1995. One of the hardest hit areas in the fighting was Dubrovnik, at the very southern tip of the new Croatia nation.

Dubrovnik is a sheer delight. It is one of the two or three most picturesque cities I have seen anywhere. The best way I can describe Dubrovnik is..."

we had such a great time in dubrovnik earlier this month hope to get back some day :-) crossing fingers that croatsia is doing well against australia
