DISCOVER OMAN

Oman is one of the most attractive travel destinations in the Middle East, a country that combines luxurious comfort and safety amidst rugged mountains, panoramic beaches and striking desertscapes. Oman is a marvellous symphony, harmonising a great civilization and modern development. It is deserves to be discovered because of its magnificence. Oman is proud of its glorious past, present achievements and bright future.

The OMANIS

The Omanis enjoy a culture that is unique in the Arab world. Great traders and fishermen, they have sailed the seas to Africa, India and the Orient for over a thousand years and the traditions of the country reflects this rich heritage. Most Omanis speak Arabic with English as a second language, but friendship is the lingua franca here and friendly smiles will greet you everywhere. Omanis have a deep sense of courtesy and respect for others.
Under the wise guidance of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, the Sultanate has emerge as one of the fastest growing and most modern countries in the region. But Oman remains distinctively Arab in look and sound. The dress is traditional; men in their white disdashas, women in their long black silk robes and the air is flavoured with the smell of Arabian spices and the sound of the muezzin calling the faithful for prayer at the mosque.

HISTORY

The civilization of Oman is thousands of years old. Oman has a vast wealth of historical information and facts. There are more than 500 forts and towers in Oman today which bear witness to the glorious past that this country had.
