Beginning and Ending Our Tour Here | Looking for the Moose or its' tracks. |
Flying into Anchorage was a good beginning of our trip. We picked up our motorhome a half-mile from the airport, tipped the taxi driver a $20 because he was worried about us needing only a short drive after he waited in line for hours in the middle of the night.
We stayed the rest of the night in our motorhome, and we drove off shortly after breakfast in the morning!
We also ended our trip by staying two nights in the Hawthorne Suites in downtown so we could get a good look around town to see the sights. We had our first taste of MOOSE TRACKS ice cream here which is made by Denali Ice Cream Company. Now, you can find the flavor in almost any grocery store; but, I believe, it had it's start here. |

Stephen-KarenConn Fri Oct 27, 2006 12:46 UTC Excellent tips. I've made 3 trips to Alaska and hope to make at least that many more to see as much as possible of this great state. | gayengarry Wed Oct 11, 2006 09:27 UTC Hi Ringleader, We are planning on flying from Australia to Vancouver, cruising up the inside passage to Anchorage then hiring a motorhome for 3 weeks. Which motorhome company did you deal with and would you recommend them? Cheers, Gaye & Garry |
