My visit to this community and the region around it happened during a missions trip to the Evangelical Church Missions facility in Farmington, NM. During a brief pause in our busy work schedule, we went to visit the Choco Canyon National Monument. On our way there, we stopped at a craft store and small museum operated by a different missions agency.

This missions store features a number of local handcrafts.

While not as elaborately painted as the pot in the shopping tips section, this work of pottery has an excellent finish texture that I found very pleasant.
