"Old Dutch fishing port" Vlaardingen by Britannia2

We used to stay here over several years ago when Dutch friends still lived here. I guess this is the Grimsby (in England) of Holland and like Grimsby its not exactly a tourist town but just like Grimsby worth visiting if you have an interest in fishing heritage.
The town centre is also well laid out and it is a town to see if you are in the area. I always thought the shopping centre and market well worth visiting.
Its fishing museum and the first herring of 2009 was my reason for a re-visit - I thought the ceremony of landing the first herring of the 2009 season was one of the highlights of my 2009 Dutch holiday.

• Cons:Off the tourist trail and missed
